Due to a change in our business focus, Pooch Perfect will no longer be offering walking services -- except to sitting, boarding and training clients -- and then only during specific hours.
Pooch Perfect begins writing for "The Hair of the Dog"

A new free dog magazine has begun appearing in Waterdown, Dundas, Burlington and Guelph. "The Hair of the Dog" includes important training tips, seasonal tips and information on nutrition -- and Pooch Perfect has been invited to contribute. Watch for our article in the spring issue. It should be available in your area in March. Contact us if you'd like a copy or would like to see "The Hair of the Dog" in your place of business.

Pooch Perfect Begins Educating Dog Trainers

Pooch Perfect was recently contracted by Canine Academy to develop and deliver a series of lectures to Pro trainers in-training. The lecture series takes place every few weeks at Canine Academy and focuses on canine cognition, behaviour problems, recent advances in training techniques and the influence of genetics in determining dog behaviour. Feedback has been excellent! Many thanks to Canine Academy and its students for such a warm welcome!

Hamilton-Burlington SPCA referred their first case to Pooch Perfect on November 18, 2014. This pup is now doing great! It's great to be in contact with the local rescue community here in Hamilton. A whole new group of dogs to help!

Pooch Perfect Advises Pet Owners at Rescue Dogs Match Fundraiser

Rescue Dogs Match, a rescue based in Cambridge, Ontario, but with Foster families across Southern Ontario, held a "Girls' Night Out" fundraiser on March first and asked Pooch Perfect to operate its "Ask the Trainer" booth. The evening was a great success with about 150 people attending for free massages, vendors, readings and great dog training advice. The Pooch Perfect booth was busy all night dispensing advice and sharing dog stories with all the Rescue Dogs Match supporters. See our Gallery for some photos of this fun event!

Pooch Perfect begins working in Partnership with "Rescue Dogs Match"

Pooch Perfect recently began working with Rescue Dogs Match, a non-profit rescue organization. Pooch Perfect helps foster dogs and their families sort out behaviour issues and prevent new ones from
occurring. Transitioning between homes can be difficult for any dog, especially if they've been rescued. Pooch Perfect is glad to be lending these at-risk dogs a helping hand.
Pooch Perfect is now recommended by the Mississauga Humane Society!
Pooch Perfect received word on September 27, 2013, that Mississauga Humane Society will now be recommending our training and rehabilitation services. We'd like to thank MHS for the opportunity to help out on their most serious and urgent behaviour cases and we're very pleased to maintain 100% adoption rate of even these troubled dogs. They are all recovering beautifully thanks to the hard work of MHS volunteers and foster families.

Make room in the garage! Our lead trainer is taking an apprentice course from a leader in Canada's scent-detection industry, Teresa Lewin who is affiliated (among others) with the Sporting Detection Dogs Association of Canada. Check out the course poster here (It's a PDF; 6.1MB). Scent-detection work is an amazing way to build confidence in reactive and anxious dogs and strengthen your bond with your dog. We can't wait to make it a part of your dog's rehabilitation!
